HOW TO USE GPS EQUIPMENT

Introduction
The Global Positioning Satellite or GPS helps to fix a position of the
vessel on the globe, in terms of latitude and longitude.

Initialization
a. Follow the starting sequence to initialize the nav-aids as explained in
chapter-1.
b. Click the Power (PWR) button to start the GPS.
c. By default the GPS starts in initialization mode. To initialize the GPS,
provide inputs
for antenna height, DR Latitude and DR Longitude by clicking from the
number pad
and pressing enter.
d. Click the clear (CLR) button to clear the value on which the cursor is.
e. Click the standby (SBY) button to pause the GPS.
f. Click the off (OFF) button to stop the GPS.

1. PWR: Click this button to switch the GPS on.
2. OFF: Click this button to switch the GPS off.

3. SBY: Click this button to put the GPS in Standby mode.

4. ENT: Click this button to register a value of parameter.

5. CLR: Click this button to clear or toggle parameter values.
